The founders of Taurus Global Search (TGS) Ben and Ken have worked together for over eight years, have a combined 36 years of recruitment experience and share an incredible journey in the recruitment world.
Their paths first crossed in 2007 when they joined a small independent recruitment business as Recruitment Consultants. The company was predominantly UK based and they were tasked with growing the construction & infrastructure and power & energy markets. Over the next 2 years they created business opportunities on a global scale, placing candidates throughout the UK & Europe, the Middle East and North & South America.
In 2011, unbeknown to each other they were head hunted to join one of the world’s largest recruitment companies to establish and grow a global recruitment centre based in Manchester.
Ken as the General Manager and Ben in the role of Head of Recruitment.
Over the next 4 years they grew the office to 40 staff with 30 recruiters working on over 2400 vacancies each year. They were personally responsible for developing new sales opportunities throughout the UK & Europe, overseeing large volume recruitment campaigns, directing sole supply permanent hire agreements and became subject matter experts for more than 100 offices in over 50 countries, advising on contract and permanent recruitment strategies.

Both eventually moved in to Business Leadership roles for the wider company, leading all regional hubs across Mainland Europe and the UK, supporting major projects and global accounts Internationally.
In addition, they spent 2 years together at another leading global engineering recruitment company, Ken as International Recruitment Director and Ben as Head of Permanent Recruitment.
Over the years they had spoken many times about setting up a recruitment company, but the timing was never quite right. However, in 2020 the stars have finally aligned and Taurus Global Search was born.
At TGS we believe that recruitment is about people and partnerships and not numbers and figures on boards, as such our key focus is to help people further their careers and to partner with companies to source excellent candidates for their organisations.
Ben Holden
Co-founder
Ben's recruitment career began in 2000 when he recruited within the UK construction and Industrial sectors.
In 2006 he transitioned in to technical engineering recruitment where he has spent the past 14 years headhunting for mid to senior level permanent positions in the domestic and international chemical & petrochemicals, oil & gas, power generation, renewable energy, utilities, manufacturing, infrastructure and construction sectors.
In addition to strong recruitment skills, Ben also has a background in leadership advisory services having led and delivered leadership assessment programmes, compensation & benefits studies and talent mapping assignments across the globe. He is also an expert in behavioural competency-based assessments and is a Saville Wave Psychometric Behavioural qualified assessor.

Ben is an avid skier, average golfer and loyal supporter of Manchester City. He lives in South Manchester with his wife Lianne, daughters Isabella & Florence and the newest member of their family, Mia the rescue dog.
Ken Meaney
Co-founder
Ken's recruitment career began in 2005, after making the transition from his family construction firm, joining a niche permanent recruitment business in the Construction Supply Chain Sector, supporting the UK’s leading Builders and Plumbers Merchants, Plant and Tool Hire Companies and specialist materials manufacturers Nationally.

After many successful years Ken expanded his market sector to include oil & gas and power generation, building strong relationships with the world’s largest publicly trading International companies.
This opened opportunities to work and travel on a global scale, concluding successful recruitment projects throughout the Middle East, America, Asia, Australia, Mainland Europe and Africa.

Ken is a lover of Motorbikes and lives in South Manchester with his Wife Jayne, Daughters Kiera and Imogen and Son, David.
